JESUS,

He is our Savior

He came to earth without sin, something no man has ever done or could ever do. He did this so that He could pay our debt and take our death on Himself at the Cross. Jesus now offers free and complete forgiveness of sin to anyone who believes that He is who He said He was and places their trust in Him. This forgiveness is not conditional - nothing we do or don't do changes it. It is simply a gift from a God who created us to live in relationship with Him. This is why we call Him Savior.

He is our Risen Lord

When we say that Jesus is "risen" we actually mean that literally. Yes, Jesus died on the Cross, but after three days God raised His spirit from the dead and transformed His physical body. Jesus then appeared to over 500 witnesses over several weeks before ascending to Heaven to rule and reign at the right hand of God. It is Jesus' resurrection that also raises us out of spiritual death in our own lives and fills us with the life of God. Jesus' disciples had the privilege of seeing Him raised back to life in person, but Jesus said about us, "Blessed are those who have not seen, yet believe."

He is our Friend

Jesus calls us friends, not slaves or servants. He asks us to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us. He promises to never leave or forsake us. He makes Himself available to anyone who believes in Him through the Holy Spirit - our Comforter, Counselor and Friend. Jesus continually shapes and molds all those who abide in Him, making us more and more like Him each day. He enables us to understand and live out His perfect will for our lives so that we can live a life of abundance. He is truly a Friend to us.

He is God

Jesus was more than just a loving man or a good teacher. During His earthly life He continually proclaimed His divinity and His unity with God as His Son. The Bible says that He was with God and He was God from before the beginning of time (John 1). Jesus' coming to this earth was God putting on humanity in order to set this world free from the bondage of sin. He didn't trade being God for being a man, but He was and continues to exist as both fully God and fully man.
